I still have
a lot to learn about this new platform. There will still be changes to its appearance over the next few days, so stay tuned. When I first opened it up, I wasn’t at all sure I had done the right thing. I think it was the initial shock of another system to learn. My boat is a little full right now with ‘learning’ new things.
However, all of that said, I think I am really going to like this once I master it and understand it. So, if any of you reading this have some suggestions for me, I am all ears.
It has been a busy week here At the Lake, but that really isn’t unexpected, is it? You are used to my busy weeks by now, if you have been with me any time at all.
My first guest post on Womanhood with a Purpose was Spring Clean Your Life. I am looking forward to doing a guest post once a month on this site.
Monday, you had the opportunity of meeting my good friend, Zachary Giles, who is just starting his blog, Prayers, Bottles and Sunshine. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check it out yet, I encourage you to do so. Zachary struggles with depression and is writing this blog to encourage others who also suffer with this. His blog is meant to be uplifting and give hope. I think it is going to be a bright spot in the blogging world.
Although I didn’t share a love story this week, but introduced a reader’s forum for the purpose of addressing communication issues in marriage. As I have surveyed couples and written the True Love Tuesday stories, one of the most common issues that comes up is communication.
Here is an excerpt from the post: “What I would like to do today, is make this post a forum for you to improve communication in your marriage. Think about the most difficult aspects of communication with your partner. Is it that you don’t feel he hears you? Or, he doesn’t understand you? Or, you don’t understand him? Do the problems start when he walks in the door from work and you are exhausted from dealing with the children and he goes and sits down in front of the TV?
Really analyze where the most difficult interactions are and how you feel about them. Please put them in the comments section, or, if they are too personal, send me an email or a private message. (My email is in the contacts section.)
Feel free to get your husband to participate in this. What are his frustrations with communication? Remember, it is never a one-sided issue. However, don’t use that opportunity to dive into a disagreement about communication. Just gather information and don’t be offended or hurt by his responses.
In a future post, (very near future) I will address your concerns and explain why these issues are taking place and how you can improve in this area of your communication. Sound good?”
So far, there has been no participation in the forum. However, I hope that readers will be encouraged to start and join a discussion.
On Thursday, I shared six Thrifty Tips to help you around the house.
1) The use of Peroxide in laundry and other cleaning.
2) Why you should wash towels and sheets in separate loads.
3) How to fold bottom sheets in to nice neat packets.
4) Fast way to fold T-Shirts
5) My favorite cleaning aid, Bar Keeper’s Friend.
6) Singing Dawn’s praise.
Also on Thursday, I became co-host for the Pintastic Pinteresting Party #10! If you haven’t done so yet, be sure you click here and link up your post. The party lasts until Tuesday and then we will be pinning your posts. It is a great way to get more exposure.
As you know, Friday was the day we moved the site to WordPress.
I hope your week was as fantastic as mine. Don’t forget that this Sunday, in most of the US, we begin Day Light Savings Time. Remember to set your clocks forward one hour tonight when you go to bed.
Thank you so much for following my blog. You will find the buttons on the upper right to follow along, if you aren’t already doing so. I look forward to your comments and hope you will join (start) the conversation on the True Love Tuesday forum.
