I thought you might appreciate hearing a bit more about the upcoming Couples Bulletproof Your Marriage Retreat. As you know, it is based upon the book, Bulletproof Your Marriage. But what does that mean. Let’s discuss it in broad terms as I don’t want to give too much away.
When was the last time you thought about your own love story? What brought you and your spouse together? What did that first date look like and how nervous were you? When, where and how did the marriage proposal take place?
If it has been a while since you have thought about these things, I encourage you to sit down with your spouse and review them. Just thinking about that ‘new’ love and remembering those pre-marriage days can be exciting and enhance the intimacy in your marriage. We will definitely be taking a look at those events as part of the retreat.
In Bulletproof Your Marriage, I talk about a friend of my mother’s, Fern, who had a great impact on me and my marriage to Kent. She talked about giving 100% in order for the marriage to work. What does that look like in your marriage? How do you give 100%? We will talk about ways to give 100%.
Have you ever taken a personality profile? Specifically, have you taken the Rembrandt Portrait? Well, as part of the preparation for the retreat, you will be sent a link to take the profile. It takes about 30 minutes to take it online. Each partner will take their own profile, with no assistance from their spouse or anyone else. At the retreat, you will receive reports that help you understand the innate personality characteristics of yourself and your spouse. You will begin to understand how to work together more effectively, enhancing communication and reducing the amount of stress created in the relationship.
Okay, I think that is enough info for today. As I said, I don’t want to give too much away. This is only the beginning of the retreat and over the next few days I will share a bit more of it.
Do you think your marriage could be improved or enhanced by going through this process? You may be having some issues in your marriage now. Or, your marriage may be going very well, but there is always room for improvement. If you would like to participate in the retreat at our lovely Bed and Breakfast on beautiful Lake Bridgeport, then be sure to let me know in the comments section below so that I can get you on our waiting list.
The first retreat is July 8th and 9th, the second will be July 22nd and 23rd. The third one will be in August but all of the details are not set yet.
Remember, these are very small, intimate retreats at the moment. So, get your name on the list early as it is definitely first-come, first-serve.
I would love to get your feedback on the retreats and hope you will leave a comment below.
